ASSESSMENT FOR CERTIFICATION

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

X. ASSESSMENT FOR CERTIFICATION (17 Practice Hours)(17 Total Hours)

Criteria: Prior to applying for certification the child care professional will complete all theory, PRACTICE and practicum hours as outlined in the course catalog.

In addition:

    1. The child care professional will complete 12 hours of public presentations.

    2. The child care professional will complete the Self-Assessment Form.

    3. The child care professional will complete a written examination in essay format.

    4. The child care professional will provide a Portfolio for review which includes

  • Completed Curriculum

  • Lesson Plans

  • Resource materials

    1. The parents of children in the child care professional’s classroom will complete a parent survey.

    2. The child care professional’s supervisor will complete an Assessment Form.

    3. CCEP staff will complete an Assessment Form.

Upon satisfactory completion of the above items a certificate will be awarded.

 

INDEPENDENT STUDY

If a student has missed a course. He/she may attend the course at its next offering or make a written request to complete the course independently.

Each independent study will be as follows:

1. Read and complete course book.

2. Read and report on one resource book from course

3. Complete and report on one hands-on project assigned by instructor.

 

RE-CERTIFICATION EVERY TWO YEARS.

  • Verification of a minimum of 30 hours of Early Childhood Education Experiences over the past two years.

  • Copy of Current CPR and First Aid Certification

  • A completed program assessment form.

  • A completed parent survey form.

  • A completed supervisor assessment form.

  • Completed SCR form.

  • Facilitation of 10 hours of training.

  • These training presentations should take place at your place of employment.

If unable to do so, you may make presentations during

regularly scheduled courses at our facility.

Request presentation materials and evaluations a minimum of

two week prior to course.
